Hip, knee and Shoulder arthroplasty (joint replacement surgery).

Joint replacement surgery can help relieve pain and improve movement when a joint has been significantly affected by arthritis or other degenerative conditions. Mr Penn specialises in hip, knee and shoulder replacement surgery, with a particular interest in modern arthroplasty techniques and technologies.

Shoulder

Shoulder arthroscopy (Shoulder scope, cuff repair, biceps tenodesis)

Shoulder arthroscopy is a minimally invasive procedure that allows the surgeon to assess and treat problems within the shoulder joint and surrounding structures. Mr Penn performs shoulder arthroscopy for conditions including rotator cuff problems and biceps pathology.

Knee

Kneescope or anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction (meniscal tears, ligament rupture)

Mr Penn performs kneescope or anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction for common knee conditions, meniscal tears and ligament injuries.

Specialist interest in arthritis surgery of the hip and knee, and soft tissue pathology and arthritis of the shoulder.

Shoulder soft tissue disease, instability, rotator cuff disease, “frozen shoulder’ as well as joint replacement surgery for arthritis.
Elbow trauma and osteoarthritis.
Peripheral nerve disease – carpal tunnel syndrome and ulna nerve disease.
Trigger finger, wrist arthritis and thumb arthritis.
