Our Team
David Penn
Orthopaedic Surgeon
Mr David Penn specialises in shoulder, hip and knee surgery.
He has specialist interest in arthritis surgery of the hip and knee as well as soft tissue pathology and arthritis of the shoulder.
Mr Penn graduated with distinction from the University of Melbourne in 1997 and completed his Orthopaedic training in Melbourne, Australia in 2004.
Thereafter he completed fellowship training in shoulder, hip and knee replacement surgery.
He trained in hip arthroplasty surgery in Exeter, United Kingdom and upper limb surgery at Wrightington, in the United Kingdom.
He spent a further 12 months in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada training in arthroscopic shoulder and knee surgery and joint arthroplasty.
He also completed a 6-month trauma fellowship at the Royal Melbourne Hospital trauma centre.
Helene
Practice Manager
Helene. Married with 2 children and 3 adult stepchildren (plus husbands/wife and grandchildren!). Worked for David since his opening of rooms in Launceston in 2007.
Come from an administration background for many years and worked for various other specialists.
In spare time, enjoys pilates, walking, bush walking and watching local (NTFA) footy team Bridgenorth, caravanning and catching up with friends and family.

Administration
Kim. Married with 2 adult children. Works part-time at the practice since 2022.
Come from a casual hospital administration background with many years in various medical fields.
In spare time, enjoys catching up with friends, concerts & festivals, volunteering, riding e-bike and travelling overseas.

Mr Penn operates at St Vincent’s Private Hospital and at the Launceston General Hospital (for public waiting list patients)
